Tower 26 Celebrates The Life Of Fran Crippen
TOWER 26 will honor Fran Crippen on their last beach workout of the year in Santa Monica, California on Sunday morning, October 31st. “We will use this session to honor an open water hero and legend, Fran Crippen who passed away during an international race in Dubai,” said Gerry Rodrigues.
“I was fortunate to help race announce the USA Swimming National 10K Open Water Swimming Championships in June where Fran was part of one of the most legendary finishes in open water. The clip below shows the last minute of that 2-hour race where the top six finishers are swimming approximately 50 seconds in the final 100 yards. Fran is second from the left.”

Southern California native, born 1962, is the creator of the WOWSA Awards, Oceans Seven, Openwaterpedia, Citrus Corps, World Open Water Swimming Association, Daily News of Open Water Swimming, Global Open Water Swimming Conference.
