Trevor Gillis, Allison Arnold Win Santa Cruz Open Water Swim

47-year-old Trevor Gillis and 30-year-old Allison Arnold won the 47th annual Santa Cruz Open Water Swim in Santa Cruz, California. The 1-mile roughwater swim, that started in 1974, was held the day before the USMS Middle Distance Open Water National Championship. The 2022 Santa Cruz Open Water Weekend saw the 1-mile race held on Saturday and the 2.5-mile USMS championship race held on Sunday.

Gillis is a multiple winner of the event while Stanford graduate Arnold participated in a recent relay crossing of the English Channel together with Chad La TouretteDrew CosgareaJoby BernsteinCatherine Breed, and Courtney Monsees with the Olympic Club of San Francisco.
