Tri The Choptank Bridge Swim

TriColumbia announced its inaugural Choptank Bridge Swim, a two-distance open water swim on May 10th in the Choptank River in Cambridge, Maryland.

The dual open water swim includes a 1.6-mile and 3.6-mile swim along the scenic banks of the Choptank River where athletes swim between the Choptank River Bridge and the Choptank River Fishing Pier that sits next to it.

We are thrilled for the opportunity to offer such a unique and exciting event on Maryland’s scenic Eastern shore,” said Executive Director LJ White.

Our Choptank Bridge Swim will be staged adjacent to the beautiful Great Marsh Park where our world-renowned EnduraFit IRONMAN 70.3 EagleMan Triathlon takes place in June. This event will offer endurance swimmers a beautiful swim in an equally beautiful venue, and provide a unique training opportunity for IRONMAN EagleMan entrants to become more familiar with the Choptank River.”

For the 1.6-mile swim, participants will start at the Choptank River Fishing Pier State Park on the Talbot County side of the Choptank River and swim between the Choptank River Bridge and the Choptank River Fishing Pier, finishing on the beach at the Dorchester County Visitor’s Center. Swimmers participating in the 3.6-mile swim will begin on the beach at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge, swim 2 miles north across the river to the Choptank River Fishing Pier State Park, and then follow the 1.6-mile course between the Choptank River Bridge and the Choptank River Fishing Pier, finishing on the beach at the Dorchester County Visitor’s Center.
