Masayuki Moriya is starting off slowly, but the Tsugaru Channel crossings between Hokkaido and Honshu in northern Japan are back on schedule after a shut-down of two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The swimmers scheduled for July crossing attempts this summer include five Japanese relay teams, Caitlin O’Reilly and Paul Feltoe of New Zealand, Andrey Bozhko of Russia, Joelle Beard and Edie Markovich of the USA, Kamil Resa Alsaran of Turkey, and Ayaka Matsushita of Japan.
O’Reilly gave an insightful interview on New Zealand Swim Bike Run podcast together with Rebecca Hollingsworth on their double 40.2 km Lake Taupo crossings. Listen to their April 13th interview here.
