Two Open Water Swimming Polls At The Daily News

The Daily News of Open Water Swimming is running two polls. The first poll asks, “Should Men and Women Swim In Separate Heats In Open Water Races?”. With two days remaining in the poll, the answers are very interesting in light of the analysis done of the average times of men vs. women:

Yes: 51 (27%)
No: 67 (36%)
It depends: 20 (10%)
Either way is OK: 35 (19%)
Let the fast women swim against the men: 23 (12%)

The second poll asks, “What side do you breathe on?” The answers are as follows:

Left: 10 (19%)
Right: 11 (21%)
Both: 25 (49%)
It depends: 5 (9%)
