Welcome to The Fresh Start Swim Series, St. Pete, we offer 500m, 2.5k, 5k, and 10 k swims. You truly never know what you are going to get in November in Florida, which is half the fun. Water temp can range from 60-80F, our wetsuit policy is 70.9 or under it is a wetsuit legal race and those wearing wetsuits qualify for awards. If it is 71 or over swimmers are allowed to wear wetsuits but they will not qualify for awards. Swimmers looking to use this as a qualifying swim may participate according to MSF rules. Unfortunately, we are currently a small local race and as of now are not able to provide wetsuit and non-wetsuit divisions. All of our awards are generously donated by a sponsor. The Fresh Start Swims Series is a major fundraiser for Forgotten Coast K9, a Florida based 501c3 non-profit that raises funds to provide service dogs to veterans and first responders. We welcome any and all levels of swimmers, being a great opportunity to get your feet wet in the world of swimming. Although we have some local sharks, incidents involving sharks are incredibly rare and by November most of our local sharks have moved on to different venues. Additionally, although jellyfish can be found in our waters by November they are not particularly prevalent, and most will swim without encountering them.
