Start

The swim starts a mile south of the registration area and just north of Manasquan Inlet. Walk to start along beach or (reasonably smooth) asphalt promenade ready to go; there is no bag wagon at the start. Running start from beach into surf. There will be three waves: males, females, and a 3rd/buddy wave of swimmers who prefer to hang back. Each wave’s swimmers will self organize along a marked grid.

Course

The course runs northward parallel to the shore between the inlet and Seawatch Beach. Swim out to buoy and turn left; proceed northward about one mile to last buoy; turn left and head into beach. The course is marked with two buoys at the start and finish and passes three rock jetties. To navigate, swim towards Coast Guard antenna tower, then look for final buoy. When you see the red awnings of Gee Gee’s on the promenade, you’ve swum about two thirds of the course. (The course may be reversed to follow current.)

Finish

Running finish from surf onto beach and into timing chute. The finish is marked with a bright arch, easily seen from final buoy. Finish is adjacent to registration and beach showers.
