Description
Swim Camp Catalina VII, held November 6-10, 2024, is in its 7th year. As in past years, we will stay at the seasonal cabins at Two Harbors, a small village located on the west end of Santa Catalina Island. This year’s event, which is 5 days/4 nights, is limited to 42 campers.
Two Harbors (population of 298) is a small resort village with only one restaurant, one snack bar, and one general store. The village has about 150 permanent residents who live on the isthmus year-round. Two Harbors is named for the two harbors where our swimming will take place. Banning Harbor is on the leeward side of the isthmus and Cat Harbor is located on the windward/southern side. Swimmers can expect high visibility with water temperature ranging anywhere from 59 to 70 degrees. Plan to explore the numerous coves and sea caves near our venue while viewing the abundant sea life. While on land, visit the western most Civil War barracks from 1864 or do a hike in the wilderness where there is always a chance you may encounter an American Bison or Island Fox. Fees include room (double occupancy), 11 meals, boat transportation to and from San Pedro, and insurance.
