The Vivid Colors Of Ruta del Arrecife 2012

The Maratón Acuático Ruta del Arrecife is a 1.25 km, 2.5 km and 5 km open water swim held in Puerto Morelos in Quintana Roo, Mexico on the Yucatán Peninsula.

About 36 km south of Cancún, the race founded by Fernando Betanzos is located in an old coastal fishing village and site of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, a National Marine Park.

But the village is now a multi-lingual, multi-cultural community that retains its old native culture with an plethora of international influences which makes for a colorful, emerging town.

Just like its open water swims.

Vibrant. Bold. Exciting.

From start to finish.
