VOWSA Plans For Its Future
VOWSA or the Vancouver Open Water Swimming Association is an open water swimming governing body that organizes and governs an open water swim series in Vancouver, Canada. VOWSA is a registered Society under the Society Act of the Province of British Columbia, dedicated to creating safe and enjoyable open water swim opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. It is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization.
VOWSA’s Annual General Meeting will be held on March 24th, 2021 via Zoom here.
The meeting is open and is educational and instructional on how to professionally run a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization. Only members may vote on any motions. A member is anyone who attended practice swim or swam in a race in 2019. This means that if you attended one swim practice, signed the waiver, and paid the drop-in fee, you are a VOWSA member.
To register for the meeting, visit here.
Craig Stewart, president of VOWSA, says, “We do not anticipate a ‘normal’ season given the pandemic and Provincial health guidelines, we invite nominations – including people nominating themselves – for the positions listed below. Please email [email protected] with your interest and questions. Nominations will also be accepted during the AGM.”
