Waikiki Roughwater Swim To Live Up To Its Name

According to the National Weather Service, Hurricane Madeline (shown on left above) and Hurricane Lester (shown on right above) are expected to come close to Hawaii this week. Fortunately, both are forecast to weaken before approaching the islands.
Local veterans predict cautiously, “It looks like Madeline and Lester might affect the Waikiki Roughwater Swim this year, but the race across Waikiki Bay will showcase a great match race between an Olympic 10 km marathon swim finalist Jarrod Poort (20th in Rio) from Australia and Kosuke Kitajima, a six-time Olympic medalist from Japan.”
