While the swans are well-known among those who frequent the Serpentine, the swan-swimmer combination may become more well-known during the Olympic Marathon Swimming 10km event in London this coming August at the 2012 Olympic Games.
BBC shows a bit of this potential combination here in its news report on the Olympic marathon swimming test event.
But whatever the swans do, the backdrop for the Olympic Marathon Swimming 10km event will be majestic.
The setting is perfect. And the price of admission is right (free). But get there early for a good seat. With Great Britain capturing 50% of the Olympic medal haul in the open water at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, its representatives will have a target on their backs.
