SWIM TO AFRICA – 2016 Documentary trailer by Skyscraper Productions from Skyscraper Productions on Vimeo. Unprepared. Jet-lagged. Exhausted.

Six swimmers with the goal of completing a tandem swim across the Strait of Gibraltar had three strikes against them.

Tankers got in their way. The slower swimmers were lagging.

Swim To Africa, a documentary film by Skyscraper Productions, dramatically tells their collective story from Spain to Morocco.

Director Brett Drogmund describes the film, “Six swimmers from around the globe attempt to swim from Europe to Africa. A world champion swimmer (Brendan Capell), a CEO (Alan Morelli), a cancer patient (Amy Aukstralnis), a heart attack survivor (Kevin Owens), an Olympian (Ky Hurst) and a college professor (Jorge Balbas) whose lifelong dream has always been to swim the Strait of Gibraltar. We follow the stories of these swimmers as they battle the freezing elements across two continents. Their mental and physical ‘marathon in the dark’ will test everyone with surprising results.”

Kevin Owens says, “Swim To Africa truly shows the beauty of the sport that we love.”

The film will premier at the All Sports – Los Angeles Film Festival on April 15th.
