What A Great Job In The Cold Ocean

Imagine having a job in Hollywood…swimming…in the ocean…and with dolphins…
That is what masters swimmer, coach and stuntman Tom Reudy did as a 22-year-old. The former competitive swimmer worked a stunt-double swimmer for Patrick Duffy in the 1970s television series Man from Atlantis.
Ready wrote, “I’m amazed how many people still remember the show. I did most of the swimming for him. It was a great experience, but it turned out to be a lot more difficult than I thought.
We did a lot of the shooting in Catalina [Island] which sounds pretty nice. However, it was winter and the temperature in the water was 57°F (13.8°C) and I hate cold water. I got through it.”
