What Should Marathon Swimmers Eat?

Dr. Peter Attia, a relentless self-experimenter, has found the secret of endurance sports success through nutrition.

While he has actually increased his caloric intake to 4,500 calories per day from 3,000 calories per day, he has significantly changed his body composition – from over 20% body fat to 7.5% body fat – and has become a better prepared swimmer and cyclist without any change in his physical training.

He did his surgical training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and a fellowship in surgical oncology at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland.
