What You Can, While You Can

Alli DeFrancesco is a marathon swimmer and runner from California. A cancer survivor, she swims to raise money for First Descents, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young adult cancer patients and survivors to defy their illness and regain their lives through outdoor adventures.
She is engaged to fellow endurance athlete, Darren Miller who she will marry in September 2015. They continue to inspire and motivate young adults through motivational speaking engagements centered on doing “what you can, while you can.”
Her story, captured by Danny Cappiello, is above and filmed before her 11 hour 14 minute successful Channel crossing in 2012.

Inductee in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame (Honor Swimmer, Class of 2001) and Ice Swimming Hall of Fame (Honor Contributor - Media, Class of 2019), recipient of the International Swimming Hall of Fame's Poseidon Award (2016), International Swimming Hall of Fame's Irving Davids-Captain Roger Wheeler Memorial Award (2010).
