There was plenty of bright sunny skies, warm water and tough competition – among all age groups – in the Swim Miami that was streamed live from Miami, Florida.

With water temperatures of 24°C (75.2°F), there were a great mixture of many NCAA swimmers and young age-group swimmers in the venue, especially in 10K race.

In the men’s 10K, there was a great five-man race that resulted in an extremely close victory of Harry Stephenson over Canada’s Xavier Desharnais by the ever slightest of margins. The official times were the same down to the hundredth of a second, but the nod was given to the 18-year-old from Florida.

World 5K champion Eva Fabian flew south for the event and dominated the women’s side in her preparations for next month’s all-important USA Swimming selection 10K race where only two Americans will be chosen to represent their country with the hopes of continuing on to the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim at the 2012 London Olympics.
