William Murphy Becomes An Iron Iceman
William Murphy became an Iron Iceman with an Ice Mile completed in Portumna Lough Derg, Galway, Ireland in 4.97°C water in 42 minutes 19 seconds.
Murphy had completed the Ironman Wales in 2014 and the Ironman Barcelona in 2015. As he is training for the Celtman and Norseman extreme triathlons, the 49-year-old completed his first Ice Mile in Portumna Lough Derg where he had completed many different Ice Kilometers and other distance swims in 4.5°C – 7°C water in preparation.
