For them… was born from a dream: to swim with a cause; the dream of helping to improve our health, our society, our country.

Initiative of Edna Llórens, who in April 2006 proposed to a group of friends, to accompany her to swim for a cause, to stroke for the prevention of breast and cervical-uterine cancer, because at that time this terrible disease was the main cause of death in Mexican women.

Thus, this team is formed, a group of high-performance female athletes in various disciplines, who took on the task of working “For Them” They added their hands and strokes for those women who believed they were alone; with facts they promoted actions in favor of health and life, so that in their freedom, all women decide to be well «for them …

To date, they continue to participate in open water crossings “for them …” strokes for cancer prevention as a mission to promote cancer prevention.

SWIMMING CROSSINGS IN OPEN WATERS

Nine open water crossings called “for them …” strokes in favor of cancer prevention, this team of enthusiastic women leave as ours the mission of promoting preventive education in diseases such as cancer, each edition carried a fair of the health and / or informative conferences for the general public.

Today, thanks to this effort, for 12 years our entire family of swimmers with a cause has joined this Sports, Cultural and Socially Responsible event where we now focus on helping low-income families with children who have this disease in the State of BCS, through the Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Unit and the civil association Oleadas de Luz.

If your challenge is merely personal and sporting, this is not an event for you, surely you will be able to meet your goals in other swims that have other objectives.

In this event, we seek to celebrate that the participants, enjoying their health to support swimming, offer those who are in misfortune, united to give those who face this terrible disease, the best opportunity to get ahead and survive it. For this reason, it is NECESSARY to emphasize that this swimming event is the meeting to celebrate swimmers who conscientiously contribute to all those with low resources in this situation and who require our solidarity support.

This event is not a sports competition, if not the SUM of strokes for cancer prevention, it is a COLLECTION COMPETITION, swimming is only the link to achieve this goal.
