Description

The  Jax Coco Shek O Challenge  is ranked among the  Top 50 Open Water Swims In Asia  and is organized by  Doug Woodring  of  Open Water Asia . The  Jax Coco Shek O Challenge  is a 2.2 km  point-to-point  race from beach-to-beach where some of Hong Kong’s top  open water swimmerstriathletes , adventure racers and water lovers swim from  Big Wave Bay  to Shek O Back Beach. It also includes the world’s only  trisolothon  and one of the  World’s Top 100 Open Water Swims . It is part of the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016  World Open Water Swimming Series .

Field is limited to 25 solo swimmers and 18 relay teams that start and finish at Battery Park City. Fields sells out in less than 45 minutes. Race first held in 1927. Substantial surface chop and strong tidal pull are possible. Water temperature varies between 17 – 19°C (64 – 67°F). Course may also include random jetsam and flotsam. A Qualifying Swim must be completed before application will be accepted.
