Sun Moon Lake International Swimming Carnival (Sun-Moon Lake Ten-Thousand Swimming Carnival) is the world’s largest mass participation open water swim. The 2 km, 3.3 km and 10 km cross-lake point-to-point swim, organized under the leadership of Professor Morrie Chiang, is held in central Taiwan in Sun Moon Lake and is ranked among the Top 50 Open Water Swims In Asia and the World’s Top 100 Open Water Swims. After growing large, the non-competitive, non-timed event is now capped at 25,000 participants who all must use a swim buoy.
