International Swimming Marathon Port-Burgas – This is a special open water event held at the marine station in Port-Burgas, Bulgaria, where swimmers are shielded from the powerful currents and waves of the open sea by the harbor breakwater. The Derwent River Big Swim is a long-distance swimming event that takes place in Hobart, Tasmania. The event is organized by the Australian Long Distance Swimming Federation and involves a 34 km swim from the New Norfolk Bridge to the Tasman Bridge in Hobart.

ʻAu I Nā Mokupuni ʻEkolu Maui Nui Swim is a group event- invited swimmers swim tandem-solos across each channel with a single time recorded for each crossing. The event committee aims to select swimmers of comparable ability and speed. There is one escort boat and swimmers must stay together. This 3-day 3-channel swim is for experienced swimmers only.

The Traversée du Lac Tremblant open water swimming event offers a range of distances for all levels of swimmers, from beginners to experts.
