
WOWSA Man of the Year Nominee Bruckner Chase (USA) – Ocean Advocacy and Awareness Visionary

Meeting after meeting, Bruckner is leveraging governmental resources from Washington D.C. to Samoa to conduct a number of ocean-related initiatives together with innovative open water swimming programs. He is also creating international open water swimming programs for intellectually disabled athletes on behalf of Special Olympics International.
He is developing ocean awareness programs with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in order to help protect and restore marine areas encompassing more than 150,000 square miles of oceans.
He offers programs from the East Coast of the USA to American Samoa that is drawing raves from government officials, benefactors and non-swimmers. For enabling others to discover their own place and role in the ocean while also showing others how their lives on land are intimately connected to the seas, Bruckner Chase has increased awareness and excitement about open water swimming and is a worthy for the 2011 World Open Water Swimming Man of the Year.
